System supplier to the office and furniture industry

At the Zwerenberg site in the Black Forest, Veyhl produces and develops metal components and complex assemblies with a team of almost 500 employees. Since the company was founded in 1951, the medium-sized supplier has continuously developed and today supplies customers in various industries worldwide. The expertise ranges from the development, design and construction of products to series production and assembly. Since 2004, Veyhl GmbH has been part of the Nordwest Industrie Holding and today has interests in the USA and Brazil.

As one of the market leaders in the fields of ergonomics and acoustics, Veyhl is a system supplier for customers in the office and furniture industry, in particular. We see ourselves as a service provider for an optimal working and living environment. The product portfolio ranges from table systems in the sit/stand and sit/sit areas, to solutions in the areas of acoustics and space. Companies from the agricultural, automotive, medical or photovoltaic sectors however are also among our customer base and benefit from the company's development and manufacturing expertise.

Bound to tradition, while exploring the new

In 1951, Hugo and Gertrud Veyhl and two employees founded today's Veyhl GmbH in a former anti-aircraft hangar in Zwerenberg in the Black Forest. From the very start, the founding couple set themselves the goal of developing something new. The product portfolio in those early days ranged from vehicle frames, bottle holders, bed frames, sound absorbers as well as sewing baskets. Even today, it is this inventive spirit and innovative enthusiasm of the founding years that characterize our corporate culture and daily work at Veyhl.

After the death of founder Hugo Veyhl, his son Wolf Veyhl took over the management of the company in 1963 and had a decisive influence on its further development. With him begun the office and furniture industry era as well as a successive internationalization of business relations. The basis for this was also the company's own innovation center, in which Veyhl sustainably anchored its development expertise in 1980. The use of gas spring technology as a height adjustment technique in 1990 set the course for a product diversification in the field of ergonomic sit/stand solutions that continues to this day.

1960: First orders were produced for the office and furniture industry

1963: After the death of Hugo Veyhl his son Wolf Veyhl takes over the business together with his mother. Under his leadership, the strategic focus on the office and furniture market takes place

1963: Veyhl exhibits for the first time at the Interzum trade fair in Cologne

1966: The first apprentice toolmaker starts at Veyhl. Until today, more than 200 boys and girls have followed him

1976: With the development of the patented ‘Veyhl knot’, Veyhl succeeded for the first time in assembling frames via knotted joints and shipping them in disassembled manner

1977: The first wall program ‘Wand 77’ was launched on the market

1980: An Innovation and development center was established

1986: Inauguration of the new office building ‘Caroussell’ with a performance by the Veyhl choir

1989: The first Veyhl platform frame ‘Uno’ is launched and sells over 500,000 items

2004: After the death of Wolf Veyhl (2000), Veyhl becomes part of the Nordwest Industrie Group (NWI) in 2004

2004: Initial certification of quality management (DIN EN ISO 9001). 2010: Initial certification of environmental management (DIN EN ISO 14001), 2015: Certification of energy management systems

2005:  Gerhard Wahl becomes managing director of Veyhl GmbH. Foundation of the partial-subsidiary OMT-Veyhl in the USA. 2013 is followed by the corporate investment OMT-Veyhl Weloze in Brazil, 2016 the establishment of the sales location OMT-Veyhl Asia in Hong Kong.

2006: The lean and kaizen process makes its way into Veyhl: To this day, the continuous improvement process is an integral part of the working philosophy at Veyhl

2007:  A new process line is established for the agricultural industry, as a further line of business

2008: Launch of Elevo, a new generation of motorized adjustable sit-stand tables

2012:  Plant expansion by approx. 3000 sqm

2016: Foundation of the TECKOS sister company by outsourcing the agricultural business growth
